Ways to Help

Why do we need to raise funds?
Although we have the approval of the Carroll County Commissioners to maintain the trail and promote its growth, we do not receive money through the county. Efforts to mark, maintain and promote the trail have come from grants written by students and help from volunteers.marker1

Your support is very important to us and there are several ways to contribute:

  • Become a Member
  • Donate!
  • Become a Weed Warrior
  • Volunteer
  • Buy a Cling

Become A Member!
Gifts to the WRC Trail provide essential support to the WRC Trail’s core activities, including maintenance to the Labyrinth, trails, blue bird boxes, bat houses, foot bridges, trail & mile marker signage, trail maps, bulletin boards and benches in a manner befitting the highest standard to serve the surrounding community. Please come and enjoy the benefits of membership and be a part of the WRC Trail Community!

Become a Weed Warrior!
Are you interested in helping us to promote the growth of native plants on the WRC trail while eradicating invasive species? Then become a Weed Warrior! As a weed warrior, you will learn what it takes to combat invasive weeds and promote growth of indigenous fauna. Weed removal sessions are held at Bear Branch/Hashawha the third Saturday of each month from 9 to 12, weather permitting. To register for a free training class, contact Carolyn Puckett at ccforestryboard@gmail.com. Or to learn more about how you can help, give Carolyn a call at 410.876.1995.

Just interested in volunteering every now and then? Check the WRC Trail calendar for opportunities to help. You may also call 410.386.4415 or email Silvia Upton at info@wrctrail.org.  We are always in need of help keeping the trail clean and clear.

Buy a Cling!
marker1We have WRC Trail clings for cars available for purchase ($1 each) to support and show support for the trail. People who are interested can pick them up either at the YMCA (Karen Farley) or at Community Media Center (John Holbert).
